Scientific Enquiry For Social Transformation

Promoting democratic values

USPA NEWS - In a world influenced by personal biases and limited visions, embracing a democratic ideology is crucial. Anti-democratic sentiments often support discriminatory practices, leading to societal issues like caste discrimination. To achieve true progress, questioning entrenched beliefs and fostering a scientific attitude is necessary. This socio-scientific perspective is key to emancipation, but requires active advocacy, institutional support, and constitutional protection. Without moral leadership and understanding of historical truths, movements for social change may fail. Society must embrace a scientific perspective and follow Phule-Ambedkar's path.
Fundamentally at odds with democratic values are the narrow and personal prejudice towards particular parties, religions, and organisations, as well as intolerance for criticism. Caste prejudice is typically perpetuated by anti-democratic beliefs that are motivated by ideas of privilege, religious dogma, and self-interest. The caste system needs to end in order to do this. Every religion needs to have its doctrine critically examined in order to promote a culture of inquiry and rational science. Minority religions, however, sometimes elude examination, prompting concerns about whether the mainstream religion welcomes this kind of investigation.
A socio-scientific viewpoint is necessary to promote revolutionary change, and this calls for active work, institutional backing, and the defence of human rights. Transformational change is fueled by the combined efforts of activists, institutional backing, and legal protections. Adopting a scientific viewpoint promotes social consciousness and establishes the foundation for a democracy that is more inclusive. Principled speech based on historical facts and scientific truths is crucial in the context of ideological struggle.

In the end, moral integrity, historical understanding, and a scientific perspective are necessary for leadership in social transformation. Comprehending this reality is essential to the progress of society.
